Preparing Earthbound Teas:

When preparing Earthbound Tea, there are three things that we ask you always keep in mind: Water Quality, Steeping Time and Water Temperature.

When steeping black tea, the ideal water temperature is approx. 212 F. You should always let the water boil before steeping a black tea, and our suggested steeping time is 3-4 minutes. The Black Teas that earthbound carries are very rich in natural flavor, and steeping them for too long could cause the tea to become bitter. If possible, using purified water is best when making yourself a cup of tea. (Only 3 grams of tea is needed when making a cup of tea).

When steeping oolong, green or white tea, the ideal water temperature to begin steeping is approx. 180 F. You should never let the water boil, when making an oolong, green or white because the high temperature will take away the teas natural sweetness. We recommend that you steep these teas for no more than 3 minutes. If possible, using purified water is best when making yourself a cup of tea. (Only 3 grams of tea is needed when making a cup of tea).
